Today I want to shout from the rooftops my excitement about this high/low outfit mix↓
The frayed denim crops you know about, but the top retails full price at $16! It’s an F21 purchase so you get what you pay for
so don’t wash it unless you stain it. The material is rayon but doesn’t scream cheap shit when you look at it + it’s super soft. Blush pink is having a big moment this season & this top can be worn on the casual side with a denim skirt & choker or take it up a notch with a wide leg trouser with a stack of rose gold bangles.
My earrings are a BaubleBar collab with Target. Shocking right?! You know I have an addiction to Target collaborations…
You know what else I have an addiction to?! Avoiding full price on investment pieces whenever possible! Here are a few different ways I save when I want to spend↓
Sunglasses: add them to your online shopping cart at Nordstrom. Sunglasses go on temporary promo every so often you purchase when you notice the price drop
Clutch: If you like bold colors and want them in designer but have a hard time justifying the price…look at consignment shops. For many high end brands colors do not hold their value as well as neutrals. Not always, but look at Balenciaga handbags on The Real Real…you can score a beautiful statement color for a major discount from retail.
Wedges: These Stuart Weitzman wedges came from Nordstrom Rack years ago. They were $129 & comfortable as f*ck — cost per wear is 2 cents max. Look at the end of season sales for classic wardrobe staples that are marked down purely for the fact seasons have changed.
I leave you with this final though about high/low shopping:
What item are you most comfortable spending the money on in your closet?
What are you happy to keep cheap & cheerful?
Take an inventory of your current patterns.
Do you like bold statement tops that you only wear a few times because the pattern makes such a statement? ←SAVE. Do you have those riding boots you non stop in the fall/winter that you don’t know how you’d survive without ←INVEST. The inventory check will allow you to identify items you love & how you like to wear items in your wardrobe.
