It’s been a while.
My life in January felt extra scattered.
We are officially done with being expats in China, but as per usual life is anything but normal.
We are living in St.Petersburg, FL now & I just have to say lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvve it!!!! I am a city girl to my core & being able to walk to restaurants, the movie theatre, shopping & more is a welcomed change. I am looking forward to visits from family & friends. I am also looking forward to posting about local life. There are some serious gems here that need to be discussed!
This area has seen a major turn around. When Jesse & I started dating 7+ years ago all I could think was ghetto. Now all I can think is get me a house here!
For the next 6 months at least we will be experiencing condo life…which is a big adjustment for us. Our home in the suburbs had plenty of room, now our 2 bedroom apartment with our 2 fur babies is
a shoe box cozy! Bella & Coco aren’t used to apartment living & all the noises that come with it so they feel compelled to bark at everything…just in case of an intruder. Obviously we won’t be making friends with our neighbors with this activity going on so if you have any tips on how to help your dogs cool it with the barking I am all ears! Currently we keep the tv or music on all day & I have started to leave them in the bathroom.
This condo we are renting is fully furnished, which means all of our stuff remains in storage. To be honest with you this is a bummer for me. I know, home is where the heart is blah blah blah, but after a year in that
terrible China apartment I am craving my own stuff. Know what I mean?
You know what did come out of storage tho? Some of my clothes…6 massive blue tubs to be exact. I’m currently reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up & feeling very motivated to purge the excess in my life. My plan is to keep, donate, sell or trash all of the items from the tubs. If you have any recommendations of places to sell gently used items I would love to know. I’ve tried Postmark before & will probably end up using them again, but if you recommend something else→ share please!
So what’s new with you?
How are you New Year’s resolutions holding up?
My fat a$$ needs a serious kick back to reality. 2015 was tough emotionally & I completely let myself go. Now it’s time, as Justin Bieber so eloquently says You should go and love yourself. I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve that I plan to test out & share the results. Good or bad. What motivates you when you find yourself in a slump?
In the mean time I am enjoying my most comfortable jeans & Lululemon attire as we explore around St.Petersburg!
Missed you guys xo
